LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

One man was taken to the hospital via ambulance after a one-vehicle rollover accident on South Medford near the Loves gas station.

Lufkin Fire had to use tools to get 21-year-old Ricky Valentino out of a red Ford Explorer that had rolled on its driver side pinning him in the vehicle.

First responders cut the passenger side door and roof off the SUV to extricate Valentino who was trapped inside.

Lufkin Police officer Trey Lendermen says Valentino did not remember what happened in the accident. A witness to Lendermen that when Valentino was coming up over the overpass it appeared like the vehicle hydroplaned causing it to spin 180 degrees, slam into the media and roll. The witness also told police it did not appear like Valentino was speeding.

First responders say Valentino was alert and talking at the scene. His injuries are unknown.
