Henderson Must Rely On Juniors

For the Henderson Lions to have a successfull season, the juniors will have to rule the day. The Lions are picked to finish fifth in the very deep and talented 17-4A district. But Henderson is on a roll, earning a playoff spot the past four seasons. They have a strong junior class that earned their stripes last year as wide-eyed sophomores on the varsity. But the question is, with the late start due to spring ball, do they have enough time to get ready?

"We've been through spring so a lot of the stuff we're doing, we're not doing a whole lot new from spring," said head coach Reid Waller.  "I feel like it's going to be adequate time. When we go into the scrmmage, I'm more interested in individual performance than I am team performance at that time. We're trying to still fit personnel. The following week, six days later we have Carthage, and that's a big test for us also."

The Lions will travel to Carthage on August 27.
