Troup Elementary School issued a "code red" after a fight just outside the entryway of the school.
According to Dr. Stuart Bird, the superintendent of Troup Independent School District, two mothers began fighting outside of the school building. The Troup Police Department was called and a "code red" was issued on the campus.
Bird says at Troup ISD, a "code red" is the equivalent of a lockdown - nobody was allowed in or out of the school. The lockdown was short-lived and the two women were placed into police custody.
The district, home of the Tigers, is located in southeastern Smith County and extends into a small portion of northeastern Cherokee County.
