In the wake of Hurricane Charley, some East Texans want to make sure help keeps coming to the victims.
At Mineola's Ace Hardware store, a collection of supplies has been started for those who need it. On Saturday, everything will be loaded in a truck for the 18-hour trip to Florida. Those at the store are asking their friends and neighbors to help out to make a difference in someone's life.
Store manager Michael Adolph: "The owner of the business will stand behind us, and I know the community will come out and support us. You've got to do it. It's the right thing to do. It's the Christian thing to do."
Supplies are needed like bottled water, baby supplies and non-perishable food. Also, blankets, charcoal for grilling and personal items are requested.
You can drop off those supplies at the Ace Hardware at 522 East Broad Street in Mineola. They're leaving Saturday morning for Punta Gorda, Florida.
