ASU Pitcher T.J. Renda named SWAC Pitcher of Week

Alabama State's T.J. Renda was named the Southwestern Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week.

Renda (6-0, 200, Orlando, Fla.) threw his second shutout of the season Saturday in the Hornets' 2-0 win over Indiana Purdue-Fort Wayne.  He allowed just three hits with no walks and struck out 10 in improving to 4-0 on the season. In his second complete-game shutout of the season, Renda struck out at least 10 batters for the second time this season, throwing 114 pitches, 79 for strikes in facing just four batters over the minimum.


Renda earned Louisville Slugger National Pitcher of the Week honors on opening week after hurling a no-hitter, yielding one walk, with one hit batter and a career-high 15 strikeouts in the Alabama State's 14-0 win over Chicago State on February 15.
