MURFREESBORO, TN (WSMV) -

A wreck involving a Murfreesboro fire truck that was responding to a grass fire Wednesday evening near Interstate 24 injured two firefighters and has slowed traffic on I-24.

The wreck, which also involved a tractor-trailer, was reported about 5:30 p.m. in the eastbound lanes near exit 81 for South Church Street.

The firefighters were transported to Middle Tennessee Medical Center for treatment of injuries that were not life-threatening, fire officials said.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating.
