Littleton hitting the ground running at Bainbridge

BAINBRIDGE, GA (WALB) -

It's been a busy three days on the job for new Bainbridge Head Football Coach Jeff Littleton. He was hired Thursday and started Friday. Now the former Cairo defensive coordinator is working to get his mark on the program.

Littleton takes over for Ed Pilcher, who's now at Berrien County.  The last three days, for Littleton, have been spent mainly getting to know his new team, and assessing where the program is.

Right now, players and coaches are simply getting a feel for each other but Littleton says he feels the process of building this program has already begun.

The Bearcats will not be running the veer offense former coach Ed Pilcher brought to the program.  Instead, Littleton has brought in Scott Roberts from Tift County to run a pro-style offense.

Littleton says he wants to take advantage of the athletes and speed Bainbridge has been known for.

"We're going to base out of the I formation. we're going to spread them out and be able to do a lot of different things out of a lot of different formations."

Littleton also says it will be a process to get the team where he'd like. He spent the last eight seasons as defensive coordinator in Cairo.

Adrian Peterson Day will have a different feel to it this year for a couple reasons. The 11th annual event to honor the East Texan is taking place in Peterson's hometown of Palestine on Saturday, but there will not be a parade like normal. Also, for the first time, the running back won't be pumping up his upcoming season with the Vikings.
