LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Cabela's is now in Louisville's neck of the woods as the company cracks open its doors for a preview of what's in store.

More than 200 local people are now hired at a store where managers claim you could fit five football fields under the roof.

"It's not like any job I've ever had before," Billy Stephens said.

Cabela's is located at the intersections of Interstate 265 and 71 near the Summit. The store features a mountain replica, indoor archery range, gun library, and a boat shop inside the nearly 90,000 square foot building.

"Our outfitters are knowledgeable and passionate about what they do. They don't just sell a product. They actually live what they sell," said Toni French, Cabela's marketing manager.

The back corner is filled with firearms - a product they're prepared to deal with as pending legislation may affect sales and availability.

"Naturally right now with the unstable political climate we're in supplies aren't where we'd like them to be," said Taylor Lee, Cabela's manager.

The Louisville location will open to the public April 11.
