Numerous indictments handed up in Smith County

The Smith County Grand Jury has released multiple indictments handed up recently.

Marquel Jermon Scott was indicted on murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charges in connection with a shooting that took place around 2 a.m. on November 26 when gunfire erupted inside the Hyena's Club on North Grand Avenue. Keeston Dwone Fields, 26, and John T. Woods, 33, both of Tyler, were transported by private vehicle to a local hospital. Fields later died from his injuries.

Former Lufkin basketball player, Xavier Shaquele Roberson was indicted on burglary charges on February 7 for the Christmas Eve burglary of a Hollytree home.

Eduardo Flores of Tyler was indicted on charges of intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault in connection with a crash that killed an East Texas woman. According to police, Flores' truck collided with a minivan after crossing a median into oncoming traffic on Highway 271.

Alvin Jones of Tyler was indicted on charges of attempted sexual assault for attempting to sexually assault a woman on her morning walk back in December. Jones started a conversation with the woman and when she tried to walk away he attacked her, dragged her into a wooded area and attempted to assault her. He ran away when the woman began fighting and screaming.

Bruce Dewayne Hash was indicted on two counts of sexual assault of a child and one count of indecency with a child stemming from an incident in 2012.

Jeffrey Logan was indicted on January 31 on charges of aggravated assault for an incident in November 2010 where he pulled a knife on a victim in a home on Woodland Hills Drive.

Kebo-Drick Osborne was indicted on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for shooting a hand gun at his cousin during an argument in December 2012.

February 7, Robert Jackson was indicted on robbery charges for the January 14 robbery of the Food Fast Convenience store on Houston Street in Tyler.

Also on February 7, Jessica Walker was indicted for aaggravated robbery in connection with the December 28 robbery of America's Best Value Inn on the WNW Loop in Tyler.

James Michael Brunelle of Winnsboro was indicted on February 28 on charges of evading arrest and driving while intoxicated in connection with a high speed chase that started in Winnsboro and ended near the intersection of FM 14 and FM 2710 in Smith County. Several agencies were involved in the chase. While searching Brunelle's vehicle, authorities found several firearms, knives and car stereos.
