Freezing Temperatures overnight could harm outdoor vegetation and pets
A Freeze Warning in effect for most of East Texas from Midnight - 8AM, indicating some of those outdoor plants could be damaged if left un-attended overnight.
A cold front moved through late Saturday night, and behind that front a strong northwesterly breeze has been in place, ushering in the colder air-mass. This northwest wind will continue overnight, turning more out of the north Tuesday, keeping the cold air in place. Temperatures overnight tonight are expected to drop into the mid to upper 20s tonight. Temperatures will be cold enough to harm vegetation. It is a good idea to cover your tender vegetation or even bring it indoors for a couple of nights.
Let us not forget the outdoor pets. It is important to remember to bring these guys and gals indoors.
The cold air will continue Wednesday morning, after which winds will be turning more out of the south and that will help overnight lows climb a little bit, back into the middle to upper 30s. Lows will eventually get into the middle 40s by Thursday morning.
