Ole Miss hopes Henderson is hot early vs La Salle

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - If Mississippi's Marshall Henderson starts piling up points in the first half Sunday, La Salle could be in for a long night.

The gregarious shooting guard is making a habit of saving his best for last.

Coach Andy Kennedy has searched for ways to settle the excitable Henderson down and get him going from the opening tip. But nothing seems to work. So he says he'll just keep calling plays early and often for his polarizing star when the 12th-seeded Rebels (27-8) take on the 13th-seeded Explorers.

It will be the third game in five days for La Salle (23-9), which beat No. 4 seed Kansas State on Friday after getting past Boise State on Wednesday in Dayton, Ohio, in the "First Four."

The UT Tyler Patriots are headed to Oklahoma City to compete for back to back national titles. It's an opportunity this team has been working toward all season long.  "Anytime you get to dogpile its a really special moment. And especially for some of these freshman and transfers who have never experienced a world series. Its an overwhelming joy for them that they are going to get to experience this and take it all in," said KK Stevens, senior Patriot catcher. ...More >>
