Elder hires new head wrestling coach

PRICE HILL (FOX19) -

Elder High School announced the hire of a new head varsity wrestling coach.

Jason Roush, who most recently served as the head varsity coach at Glen Este High School, is now a Panther. He will become the 8th head coach in the history of Elder wrestling.

Roush is replacing Dick McCoy, who retired earlier this month after a 31-year career as head coach for the school.

As Glen Este's head coach since 2009, Roush's dual record is 43-23 and has coached 18 league champions, seven sectional champions, two district champions, six state qualifiers, and one state placer.

Roush was also voted 2013 Eastern Cincinnati Conference Coach of the Year.

In high school, he was a two-time Ohio High School State Place Winner and a three-time NCAA Division III All-American. He also wrestled at the college level for Mount St. Joseph.
