HUTCHINSON, KS (KLTV) -

The Kilgore College Rangers are headed home from the NJCAA Men's National Basketball Championship Tournament.  No. 2 ranked Spartanburg Methodist (S.C.) scored the final basket with 29 seconds to play in a 53 to 51 win.  Kilgore's Maurice Taylor missed a game winning three pointer at the buzzer, that hit the rim.

Spartanburg moved to 33 and 0 despite trailing the Rangers 23 to 19 at halftime.  Kilgore was led by Quinton Upshur's 13 points.  No other Ranger player reached double figures.

Making a national tournament appearance for the first time in 19 years, the Rangers finish the season 27 and 5.
