A Palestine woman arrested in Kentucky pleaded guilty on Wednesday to stealing assault rifles from a Tyler Walmart.
Jamie Lee Miller was sentenced to 12 months in a state jail facility in the 241st District Court in Smith County after pleading guilty to the charge of Theft of a Firearm.
On October 1, 2012, Miller and an alleged accomplice, Jeremy Lee Wilson, burglarized a gun case in Walmart on Highway 64W in Tyler, stealing four assault rifles, as well as a gun bag and hunting jacket.
The weapons were later recovered but Miller and Wilson were not found and warrants were issued for their arrest. Their getaway vehicle was later found in a yard in northwest Tyler.
Miller and Wilson were arrested in Barren County, KY. Tyler police were notified of the arrested on December 2, 2012. Wilson is still in jail in Kentucky for commercial burglary, evading arrest and felony firearm possession.
