Chapel Hill football player breathing on his own

CHAPEL HILL, TX (KLTV) -

A Chapel Hill football player injured at practice has now been taken off his ventilator and is breathing on his own.

Dorian Timmons, a 9th grade football player at Chapel Hill High School was injured last fall in an helmet-to-helmet head injury with another player at practice. Timmons had to be rushed to ETMC in Tyler where he underwent emergency brain surgery, school officials say.

He is currently recovering at home and although he is unconscious, his parents say he has started to respond to reflex test and is wiggling his toes.
