A single vehicle accident in Clinton County killed two on Saturday evening.
Police say that Timothy Roberts, 23, of Wilmington was driving his pick-up truck northeast on State Route 730 near Ogden Road when he struck a deer. The vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway where he struck a utility pole, a traffic sign and six trees.
Authorities say that Roberts was traveling at a high rate of speed when he struck the deer.
Roberts and his passenger, 21-year-old James Jackson of Clarksville, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Neither Roberts nor Jackson were wearing seatbelts. Alcohol use is unknown at this time.
