The Adopt-a-Highway program began their annual spring
cleaning on Sunday.
Volunteers will be out in full force this week to clean up
Brown County's highways. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announced its
Spring Clean Week is March 17 through the 23.
"The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet appreciates the efforts
of our Adopt-a-Highway volunteers who help keep our highways and communities
beautiful and litter free," said Transportation Secretary Mike Hancock in a
Nearly 750 groups participate in Kentucky's
Adopt-a-Highway program. Volunteers
clean approximately 5,100 miles of roadside annually.
