Human skeletal remains found in Newport

NEWPORT, KY (FOX19) -

Human skeletal remains were found Saturday afternoon in a wooded area of a Newport neighborhood.

Police responded to reports of remains found near Keturah and Brighton Street around 2 p.m.

After an investigation, it was determined that the found remains were, in fact, human.

Authorities are further investigating the issue.

Foul play is not expected.
