Apparently, the penguins at Newport Aquarium are bigger fans of American Idol than we thought.

Our flipper-friends are continuing with their quest to help pick the next American Idol. Most recently, the majority of them chose Curtis Finch, Jr. to get the boot.

And it looks like they were right!

The judges didn't save him after his performance on Thursday, and Nikki Minaj was not happy about the decision.

Angie, Candace and Kree were the top three vote getters.

American Idol is back on Wednesday for two hours when the final 9 contestants duke it out.
