Peppers full of pot ... a recipe for getting arrested

Good afternoon! Hope your day has been a great one so far!

We have so many stories for you this afternoon, from local to international news. Here's a few that we're working on for you:

A Mexican man was arrested Tuesday for attempting to smuggle more than a ton of marijuana into the U.S. in a shipment of bell peppers. U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials stopped the man in a tractor-trailer at a commercial facility. The drugs were worth more than a million dollars. That story (and many others) at 4.

A big day for an East Texas animal shelter, as a proposed new facility will come before a city council meeting. Details at 5, as well as a story about a large animal rescue in deep East Texas. Sad story, but good that the animals were rescued.

At 6, there's been a new development in the case of murdered Gregg Co. man Ronnie Gammage. The three accused of his murder have been indicted today. We'll fill you in this evening on what's going to happen next.

Also, check out your weekend weather forecast as we're joined by Chief Meteorologist Mark Scirto at 4, 5, and 6.

And of course you can join us on our livestream at 4, 5, and 6 on if you prefer to watch online.

We'll see you soon!
