New Coach, New District, Same Winning Attitude For Lobos

The Longview Lobos began practice this week, a week late, thanks to spring football. But that's just fine with new head coach John King. He'll swap six days in the fall with 18 days in the spring. The Lobos hope to make their fourth straight post season trip with 12 returning starters.  And while it's a new coach and new district,  Coach King says what it takes to win is not new.

"The thing we've talked about from day one is team," said King.  "We've got a bunch of good football players. As a coaching staff, we've got to get those football players to play as a team. We're stressing that all the time, make sure we do the little things."

The Lobos unveil their new turf in the zero week, hosting Marshall on August 27 in one of the oldest rivalries in the state.
