SULPHUR SPRINGS, TX (KLTV) -

A manhunt resumed Wednesday morning in Hopkins County.

A massive manhunt was launched just after 7 p.m., Tuesday, when a man fled from a Hopkins County deputy after a traffic stop north of Sulphur Springs. Law enforcement agencies set up a perimeter around the area of Highway 19 North and County Road 4801, but the suspect was able to elude searchers.

According to the Hopkins County sheriff, authorities are searching for James Galloway. It is believed that Galloway received assistance and left the area.

A DPS helicopter, state troopers and Delta County deputies assisted in the hunt.

Galloway is described as a black male, 5'9", weighing 145 pounds. He was last seen in a gray t-shirt and black shorts.

The man is wanted on a Dallas warrant for bond forfeiture and a new charge of assault on a peace officer was added by Hopkins County.

We will have more information on the continuing manhunt as information becomes available.
