Officials with the Houston County Sheriff's Office say the Fort Worth Police Department have arrested a woman accused of kidnapping her two grandchildren. The children are safe.

On Friday, family members of Bonnie Miller, 48, pleaded for her to turn herself in.

"You need to do the right thing. You are safe, you will be safe. We already have a lawyer for you that's waiting for you to do what you need to do so they can help you," said Malisia Gordon.

Chief Deputy G.P. Shearer said police found the gray 2005 Honda Accord on Richmond Street around 3 p.m. The home is located in the 900 block of East Richmond. They then found Miller hiding the children and herself in a house near where the vehicle was located. Detectives with the Fort Worth police said they had several probable connections that lead them to the home.

The children were safely transported to temporary care by Child Protective Services Friday afternoon. Shortly after authorities arrested Miller, the children's father traveled to Fort Worth to be reunited with his children. Shearer said the children are expected to return home with their father sometime Friday night.

"Deputy Simpson is on his way to Fort Worth. When they had the kids in custody that's when we released him from his duties so he could get his kids," said Shearer

Miller is accused of taking her grandchildren, 2-year-old Nehaeh Kimora Simpson and 1-year-old Jordan Malik Simpson during a custody dispute.

Miller is a black woman who is 5-foot-6 and 190 pounds.

According to a release, the mother had died in a north Texas hospital in late December. The father has custody of the children and took them to the grandmother's house for a Christmas visit. When he returned Christmas Day to pick up his children, the grandmother refused to give them up.

A court order was issued listing the father as the sole managing conservator. During the time when the court proceedings initiated and were being finalized, the grandmother left the county with both children.

Two felony arrest warrants for kidnapping warrants have been issued for Miller.
