2 Kilgore residents arrested on meth charges

KILGORE, TX (KLTV) - The Northeast Texas Drug Enforcement Administration Task Force and the Gregg County Organized Drug Enforcement unit conducted a joint operation which resulted in the arrest of five members of a local methamphetamine distribution ring.

Kilgore Police Department DEA Task Force Officer Daniel Morgan lead the investigation which resulted in the indictment of Paul Bryan Jones, 44, and Carrie Hammer, 32, both of Kilgore, on the charges of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine, three counts of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.

On March 7, officers from DEA, CODE, the Kilgore Police Department and the Gregg County Sheriff's Office arrested both Hammer and Jones at their residence on FM 1252, Kilgore, Texas.

In addition to the arrest, agents seized methamphetamine, packaging material and drug paraphernalia from the home.

Shelly Wiles of Longview, Texas, Rickey Velin of Mt. Pleasant, Texas and Paul Knight of Kilgore were also arrested on drug charges.
