AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - Hayden Nichols scored 21 points to lead defending state champion White Oak to a 69-50 win Friday over Winnie East Chambers in a Class 2A semifinal at the Erwin Center.
White Oak will face Brock on Saturday for the
2A championship. It's a rematch of last season's final, won by White Oak.
White Oak led 31-24 at halftime and maintained a comfortable margin the rest of the way.
Levi Yancy added 16 points, 15 rebounds and six blocks for White Oak, which shot 46.4 percent from the floor. The team enjoyed a 46-24 advantage in rebounds. Kris Anderson had 13 assists for the winners.
Brennan Beckett led Winnie East Chambers (26-10) with 11 points while Jarrod Guillory and Glenn Roberts added 10 points each. Winnie East Chambers was making its first appearance in the state tournament since 1996.
