KILGORE, TX (KLTV) -

A fight that broke out between two black males on the Kilgore College campus led to multiple shots being fired on Monday night in Kilgore.

According to the Kilgore Police Department, two unidentified black males were involved in a fight on the campus of Kilgore College. The fight continued in an alley off of Houston Street. A large crowd gathered and two unidentified individuals pulled out handguns and began firing them, dispersing the onlookers.

Kilgore police responded to the alleyway, near the intersection of Houston Street and South Street, just after 8 p.m. on Monday where they located several witnesses to the fight.

Police recovered more than 30 shell casings from a variety of different caliber handguns.

The witnesses informed police that the suspects left the scene in a tan 1990s-syle Chevrolet Caprice, a dark green Chevrolet Suburban or Tahoe with large wheels and an older-model Chevrolet Monte Carlo.

"We've had some resistance in identifying these individuals, but I feel confident we will, we intend to. We don't tolerate that type of activity inside the city limits in our town. We will get those parties identified and they will be arrested," said Captain Roman Roberson with the Kilgore Police Department.

Roberson said if they do locate the individuals, they will the felony charge of deadly conduct.

Kilgore College sent out a Ranger Alert around 8:30 p.m. advising students of the shooting and telling them to stay in their dorms with the doors locked. At 9:15, an all-clear was issued and a second Ranger Alert was sent, letting students know about the all-clear, but requesting they stay inside and remain alert.

There were no injuries or property damage. The investigation is ongoing. If you have any information regarding this investigation, the Kilgore Police Department asks you contact them at 903-983-1559. You can also contact Crimestoppers at 903-236-STOP.
