Pigeon Drop Scam In Tyler

Residents in Tyler should beware of a "Pigeon Drop" scam.
Last Friday an elderly woman was approached by another woman saying she had picked up a roll of money that fell out of a pick-up truck.
The woman told her she needed a ride to a bank to turn in the money for a reward. In route to the bank the woman told the victim they could split the money but she would have to pay taxes on it. The victim withdrew more $9,000 from her bank account, giving it to the woman, who then fled on foot.
Police describe the suspect as a white female about 30 or 40 years old, with black hair.
If you've been approached by this woman or have any information on this scam, contact the Tyler police department.
