Parkinson's Patients Meet At ETMC

A group of East Texans that share a common bond, got together for the first time in Tyler Friday.

A group of about 25 people met at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler.  The group are all patients of a procedure called Deep Brain Stimulation, a surgery that helps those with Parkinson's Disease and essential tremor disorder.

The procedure is fairly new, and doctors say they have seen positive results in East Texas.  For many of the patients it was the first time they were able to meet with those who helped to perform the surgery.
