Couple celebrates return of stolen dog

A 'caught on camera' theft of a family pet and an appeal by the owners has a happy ending. It was last week we told you about the theft of a 5 month old bull terrier named Zeus. Katie and Carl Worden had used facebook, offered a reward and posted flyers around town hoping someone would know where their dog Zeus was.

"We were even afraid if we did get him back it wouldn't' t be alive. I got notes from people saying so much time had passed he probably isn't alive," Katie says.

"Every person we called upon, whether it be facebook friends in what ever way they just jumped in and used every resource," says Katie's mother Lisa Rhodes.

A neighbors security camera caught these images of two people taking a dog right out of the backyard last Tuesday. Then Friday, an anonymous phone call.

"The caller said they've seen him and pretty sure it was him. It wasn't the friendliest conversation on the phone. It was very intimidating. There was a meeting and they gave us back Zeus," Katie says.

They don't know exactly where Zeus was or how he was treated.

"He was very dirty he hadn't been taken care of at all and hungry," she says.

The Wordens won't say who it was, or how the return was made, just that they got Zeus back, and thanks to everyone who helped.

"The neighborhood , the neighborhood has been great helping us patrolling areas and looking around everywhere they go so we really appreciate it," says Katie.

Zeus was dirty and hungry when returned, but is in overall good health.
