Tank Explosion Kills One Man, Injures Two

A fiery tank explosion Friday in far East Texas left one worker dead and two hurt.
It happened around 9 am in Harrison County, off of Highway 80, about three miles east of the small town of Scottsville.
The explosion occurred at a salt water injection facility operated by Trinity Services, LLC. Authorities say welders were repairing a tank with oil inside when the explosion occurred. The blast was so powerful it turned the tank inside out.
26 year-old Doyle Weaver, of Bethany Louisiana was thrown 90 feet from the tank and died at the scene. Two other welders were injured in the explosion. They were sent by Life Air to the LSU Burn Center in Shreveport. Both men are in critical condition.
The road leading to the site was blocked off for hours. Other Trinity Services employees were not allowed inside. Worried family members arrived for any word on the condition of their loved ones. Harrison county officials say the site will remain closed and OSHA will begin an investigation into the explosion.
