Trevor Releford scored a game-high 21 points on 4-of-9 three-pointers and Nick Jacobs added 10 points and 10 rebounds to lead Alabama to a 61-43 victory over Auburn in Coleman Coliseum on Wednesday.  Rob Chubb scored 13 points to lead the Tigers.

Alabama bridged both halves with a 17-6 run to take a 32-19 lead with 16:35 remaining, and the Crimson Tide extended it to 48-27 on Releford's fourth trey of the game with 10:50 left.

Chubb scored the game's first basket and then Alabama reeled off nine straight points to take a 9-2 lead four minutes into the game. The Tigers answered with a 9-2 run to cut the lead to 15-13 with 6:20 left.

Auburn held Alabama scoreless for 7:29 to stay in the game before Releford's 3-pointer with 2:37 left in the half. The Tide scored six straight points and led 23-16 at the half as Chubb scored nine points on 4-of-6 field goals while the rest of the Tigers combined for seven points on 2-of-22 shots from the floor.

Auburn fell to 9-19 overall and 3-12 in the SEC while Alabama improved to 19-9 and 11-4.

Alabama outshot Auburn 39.3 percent to 30.0 percent from the floor. The Crimson Tide was 5-of-24 (.208) from 3-point range while the Tigers were 2-of-15 (.133). Alabama outrebounded Auburn 41-31.

Chubb was 6-of-11 from the floor while the rest of the Tigers were 9-of-39 (.231).

Auburn returns for its last two home games of the season vs. Vanderbilt  on Saturday at 8 pm Central on ESPN2 and vs. Tennessee on March 6 at 8 pm on CSS.

The Tide plays again Saturday, March 2 in Gainesville, Fla. against Florida. The game will be televised by ESPN2 and the radio broadcast will be carried on the Crimson Tide Sports Network.
