Firefighters control blaze in wooded area in Cherokee Co.

Firefighters battled a blaze in Cherokee County Monday afternoon, and have now gotten it under control.

Smith and Cherokee County fire departments responded to the fire, which was in a wooded area on FM Road 177 between Mt. Selman and Mixon.

No injuries were reported, and no structures were involved.
