EAST TEXAS (KLTV) -

A powerful storm is moving through the northwestern sections of the Lone Star State this afternoon. A front will move through East Texas this afternoon/evening. As all of this happens...as the low moves east and northeast through the central U.S... winds in East Texas will remain very strong and gusty for the next few days.

Wind and Lake Wind Advisories are in effect for ALL of East Texas through at least tomorrow morning and will likely stay in effect through most of the day on Tuesday and even on Wednesday. West and northwest winds will be the rule with velocities in the 20-30 MPH range with gusts near 40 MPH through tomorrow, then a bit less on Wednesday.

High profile vehicles will likely have a rough time of it as they travel for the next few days as well. Please use extra caution as you travel for the next few days.

Due to the high winds, wind chills will be in the 20s for the next six days during the early morning hours. As you prepare for your day, whether it is school or work, please be ready for very cold mornings this week.
