Petal's Cliff Pace wins Bassmaster Classic

Cliff Pace, a Petal resident, won the 2013 Bassmaster Classic at Grand Lake O' the Cherokees in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on Sunday. Pace's three-day catch weighed a total of 54 pounds, 12 ounces.

Pace had at least a share of the lead all three days of the tournament. He shared the lead with Michael Iaconelli after day one, posting five fish weighing in at 21 pounds, eight ounces. Pace took the lead on day two with five fish weighing in at 21 pounds, 12 ounces, and he never looked back.

Brandon Palaniuk finished second with a three-day catch of 51 pounds, eight ounces.
