A woman was arrested on Wednesday after a deadly hit-and-run crash.
Authorities received reports around 2 a.m. Sunday morning of a body on northbound I-71.
Cincinnati Police say that the body of Christopher Walker, 21, was found next to the high speed lane near the Oak Street overpass in the Walnut Hills area.
Police believe that Walker was attempting to cross 71 by foot when he was struck by a car that did not stop. Walker was killed on impact.
According to the News Record, Walker was a third-year architecture student at the University of Cincinnati.
Police identified Lauren Balint, 21, of Cuyahoga Falls, as the driver of the vehicle, a 2002 Oldsmobile Intrigue. Authorities say Balint was headed northbound on I-71 when the vehicle hit Walker. Officers say the owner of the car Balint was driving was in the front passenger seat, and another couple was in the rear seat.
She reportedly took off after hitting the victim, and the car was abandoned at a nearby gas station with a smashed windshield.
On Wednesday, police arrested Balint on a warrant for failure to stop after an accident. She was booked into the Hamilton County Jail, but has since been released on a $1,000 bond.
The Cincinnati Traffic Unit is asking for any witnesses to the crash to call (513) 352-2514.
