Identity of Sabine County woman killed in storms released

SABINE COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

Sabine County Sheriff Tom Maddox confirms that a 74-year-old female died from injuries suffered during Thursday afternoon's storms.

The woman, identified as Louise Stringer, lived north of Pineland in the Strickland Crossing area. She was found pinned under the roof.

Stringer was taken to San Augustine Memorial Hospital where she died of head injuries.

The storm hit around 1:40 p.m. The sheriff said that 15-20 structures were damaged and that damage reports are still coming in.
