City of Rusk appoints new police chief

RUSK, TX (KLTV) -

The Rusk City Council has appointed Lt. Jamie Campbell as the new chief of police. Chief Campbell has served as the interim chief since January, after the resignation of Rusk Police Chief Joe Evans.

Chief Campbell ran opposed by three other candidates. After an interview process with the city manager, Campbell was named chief at a city council meeting.

Chief Campbell is the son of Cherokee County Sheriff James Campbell.
