There's an East Texas product on the practice fields in Oxnard. Kilgore College fans will remember offensive lineman Thomas Herrion, but then again, how do you forget someone who's 6'3" 320?
Herrion's got a tall task before him if he's to make the team. The free agent, who finished up at Utah after playing juco ball at Kilgore, plays the left guard position. That puts him behind Larry Allen and probably a few others, but he's happy to be getting a look from another team that wears a star on their helmet.
"This is the place," Thomas says. "A lot of people unfortunately couldn't make it here and I just thank God I made it here, man."
"And I'm going to take advantage of everything I get."
Herrion, who is from Ft. Worth originally, played on Kilgore's 2001 team that finished number two in the nation.
