Weather changes, wallaby sightings, and more

Good afternoon, everyone!

We're busily working in the newsroom today to bring you the latest on these and other stories:

First, we all have an eye to the skies, and our Mark Scirto will be with us all afternoon to keep us updated on our chances for severe weather. So far we know that a Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for the following counties until 9:00 PM: Camp, Cass, Franklin, Gregg, Harrison, Marion, Morris, Panola, Rusk, Smith, Tutus, Upshur and Wood.

Stay with KLTV and KLTV.com for the latest updates, and if you haven't done so, make sure to download our weather app (available for iPhone and android) to have the weather at your fingertips 24 hours a day...and it's free!

We have a lot of interesting stories and video to share with you on East Texas News at 4:

An Upshur County family is frantically searching for its pet Wallaby, named Hamilton, which escaped from it's home in Gilmer on Friday. The community is pitching in, keeping eyes open and attempting to help. We'll check in at 4.

Also at 4, I'm going to write this, but you won't believe it, I bet: The Denver airport is "under attack." It's being attacked by bunnies. Yes, bunnies! We'll tell you what's going on coming up.

At 5, we'll discuss the once-again rising prices of fuel, and why it's happening. We also have a slideshow of area gas prices, taken today all around the area. Click here to view

And we'll talk at 6 about the fuel spill that occurred on Loop 323 and Commerce prompting a HAZMAT clean up, and we'll share the latest on the American Legion murder in Henderson that occurred over the weekend.

All of that and much more is coming up for you this afternoon at 4, 5, and 6. Don't miss it!

Click here for the livestream if you'd like to see all of this and your live weather updates on your computer!

We have a livestream on your iPhone and selected android devices, too. Make sure you download the KLTV7 news app, free in your app store, to see live news on your phone.

We'll see you soon!

The John Tyler Lions always seem to look sharp in their uniforms. But thanks to East Texas lawyer Keith Miller, the Lions will look better and play safer. Helmets that advertise lowering the impact of hits, and possibly reduce the amount of concussions, come with a hefty price-tag. Miller's donation of 7,500 dollars, will go to help the lions cover that cost. "Keith Miller's been a big sponsor of John Tyler High School football program for years now.  I know it's...More >>

The last time we talked about the Kilgore Bulldogs, quarterback Buddy Jackson and wide receiver Jonathan Shepherd were apart of the 800-meter relay team that won gold at the 2017 state track meet. But today they are back in the pads, and looking to turn their speed into touchdowns.  Competing in District 9-4A, Kilgore has always had a strong run game that helped them become the 2016 District Champs.
