Proud of East Texas: Pittsburg Hot Links By Joan Hallmrk
Pittsburg Hot Links have been a Texas tradition for over a century. Sonya Warrick Barker's family has been in the hot link business for three generations. While Charlie Hasselback brought the recipe to Pittsburg from Germany in 1898, it was Sonya's grandfather Benie Warrick who started the family hot link business and her parents, Gene and Madeline Warrick, who built it. Sonya and her five siblings run different aspects of the business and they hope their children will continue to carry on the tradition. The Pittsburg Hot Links Restaurant is located at 136 West Marshall in Pittsburg and is open from eight to six Mondays through Saturdays.
