Bossier City Police arrested a Shreveport woman Thursday after they say she was caught shoplifting at Pierre Bossier Mall before ramming an employee with a stroller containing two small children.
Brittany Dianne Lafitte, 24, was booked into the Bossier City Jail on charges of shoplifting, disturbing the peace, aggravated battery, contributing to the delinquency of juveniles and cruelty to juveniles. She also was booked on a bench warrant for failing to appear on an unrelated charge of harassing phone calls. Lafitte's bond is set at $12,500.
Police say store personnel at Dillard's reported seeing Lafitte conceal articles of women's clothing in a bag. They escorted Lafitte to a security office.
While in the office, police say Lafitte reportedly became hostile toward store and security personnel and began to ram a baby stroller into a store employee as she tried to leave the office. In the stroller were two girls, ages 3 and 1. The employee was not seriously hurt.
Neither child was seriously hurt in the incident. Both were released to the custody of a relative.
