Not everyone's relationship is all roses and chocolate.
But now there's an easy way to give your marriage or special friendship a quick boost, thanks to an assortment of smartphone apps designed to save a struggling relationship.
Ken and Sherry Levine have been married 44 years.
"You've got to understand there are two sides to everything," said Ken Levine. "You give in once. She gives in. Nothing should be such a big deal."
But even the husband and wife admit that issues always come up that'll put stress on any relationship, which is why a number of companies have created phone apps to help fix any relationship.
"From Break-Up To Make Up" promises to transform your relationship and get your love life back on track.
"Fix-A-Fight" was created by a professional marriage counselor to guide users step-by-step through personal issues.
It even provides a report card on the couple's repair work.
And then there's "My Relationship Coach," a portable couple's repair kit that's supposed to be like having your own therapist in your back pocket.
Valley marriage counselor Jason Fierstein said the relationship apps can be very helpful, but couples facing more serious, deep-rooted problems should probably seek out a real therapist.
"I think they are kind of like 21st-century self-help books, and they're a lot more accessible and private, so they have a lot of benefits to them as well as affordability," said Fierstein. "They have their place, but I don't think they are a substitute for professional help, especially not to help the intricacies of your marriage."
"You might find a couple things that you wouldn't have thought of on your own," said Sherry Levine. "Maybe it will help."
"There are tons of books in the library for this, but now, its on your phone," said Ken Levine. "I don't see anything wrong with checking it out."
Some of the relationship apps are free, while others range in price from a few dollars up to $10.
None of them offer any guarantees the relationship won't eventually fall apart.
