Reality Check: Should LAPD get to decide if Chris Dorner is taken dead or alive?

Quadruple-murder suspect Christopher Dorner is believed to be dead tonight after being holed up inside a cabin in Big Bear, California.

A fire broke out after police broke the windows to the cabin and fired tear gas into the building. A gunshot was also fired around that time.

Tonight, news media in California are confirming a body has been found inside that cabin.

Now, we are asking the question: Was taking Dorner alive an option?
