TYLER, TX (KLTV) -
On Monday, the Smith County Sheriff's Office dispatch received numerous calls of residential burglaries reported along County Road 191 in southeastern Smith County.
Patrol deputies were dispatched to the area and contacted the victims in the burglary cases.
During the course of this investigation, sheriff's deputies and a Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper located a black male wearing a bright orange hoodie. He had a nylon bag with the items obtained in three burglaries in the area.
The man, identified as Jermaine Lashone Kennedy, 21, from Whitehouse, Texas, showed investigators locations he had burglarized on County Road 191 and County Road 1313. Approximately $6,000 in stolen property was recovered.
The recovered items ranged from firearms and cameras to Kindle Fire tablets and Wii devices.
Kennedy was booked in to the Smith County Jail and charged with Burglary of a Habitation. His Bond was set at $35,000. He remains in jail at this time.
