showers and thunderstorms will continue across areas of east Texas until noon.
The strongest storms will produce very heavy rain and hail up to the size of
dimes. Most of the storms have weakened and will continue to do so as the upper
level storm system moves northeast. Areas that have seen heavy rain will see ponding of water on roadways, so please drive with caution. This afternoon will
be cloudy with very light rain and drizzle through 5 p.m.
Tonight we will see partly cloudy and cool
temperatures. Lows will drop into the upper 30s and lower 40s.
Wednesday will be partly sunny and cool. Highs will reach the middle 50s
north to near 60 south.
Thursday and Friday will be sunny and warm with highs in the
60s. A cold front will move through the area late Friday bringing colder
weather for Saturday. A weak disturbance will bring a slight chance of
rain Friday night into Saturday morning.
Right now surface temperatures
appear too warm for any frozen precipitation but there is a chance a few areas,
especially north of I-20, could see some snow mix in with the rain.
Precipitation amounts appear too light to cause any significant travel problems
if snow is able to make its way to the surface. Our winds will turn out
of the south and rapidly warm us up on Sunday with highs back in the 60s.
