Charges Expected In Mt. Pleasant Acid Spill

The driver whose truck leaked hydrochloric acid in Mt Pleasant may be facing criminal charges from police. Yesterday morning, a tanker was leaking the deadly chemicals in a Super 8 parking lot off Interstate 30. 50 homes in the immediate area were evacuated, as well the hotel and a nearby restaurant, though no one was seriously effected.

Witnesses told police that the driver of the tanker had inspected the truck, found a leak, and simply moved the truck to a different location in a motel parking lot. Police are now seeking criminal charges of "deadly conduct" against the driver, for exposing residents to the threat of the chemical.
