DIY How-To Auto Body Repair and Paint, one of the most popular auto repair and paint YouTube channels, has garnered even more acclaim by taking home the coveted title of “Next How-To Guru” in YouTube’s massive competition.
(PRWEB) February 08, 2013
DIY Auto Body Repair and Paint, one of the most frequently turned to sources for free tutorials on body repair and auto painting, has been announced as a winner in YouTube’s fiercely competitive “Next How-To Guru” competition.
Donnie Smith, the auto repair and paint expert behind the videos on the DIY How-to YouTube channel, automotive blogger and author, says, “My passion for working on cars started when I was a kid. I helped my dad and older brother work on cars as a hobby. In high school, I enrolled in auto shop and painted my first car. After stepping back and seeing the finished product, I knew that I was hooked for life. I’ve had a long career in auto repair and painting, and for the past eight years I’ve been teaching collision repair for an NATEF Accredited college that’s also a member of the I-Car Industry Training Alliance.”
That experience and lifelong passion for auto painting and collision repair is part of what helped Smith walk away with the coveted win in YouTube’s competition. The competition has been heavily featured in a variety of different media outlets, including Social Times, Silicon Republic, Straight.com, TubeFilter and New Media Rockstars. According to YouTube, hundreds of entrants competed for the top prize in their competition, but only a handful made the cut.
Donnie Smith was one of the few who walked away with $4,000 in production equipment, promotion for their YouTube channels, and a private G+ workshop series of their very own.
Currently, the DIY How-to YouTube channel boasts more than 6,500 subscribers, with over 4 million individual video views. Video tutorials run the gamut from DIY plastic bumper repair to spray gun adjustments for auto painting, dent repair techniques, rust repair and more.
