Sheriffs investigate abduction attempt in Butler Co.

LIBERTY TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) -

Butler County deputies are investigating a report of an attempted abduction in Liberty Township.

Deputies responded to a residence on Grey Elk Court on Monday evening, where they spoke with a 9-year-old male and his mother on the report of suspicious activity.

The boy indicated that as he was walking home from a friend's house on nearby Long Drive shortly after 6 p.m. when a black car pulled up next to him, and the male driver exited the vehicle holding a comic book.  The driver called to the boy asking him if he liked comic books.  The suspect then threw the comic book into the back seat of the car, and told the young boy to go get it, if he wanted it.

Instead, the boy began to just run toward his home.  The car then drove away.

The only description that the boy was able to provide was that the subject was probably in his 20's and was wearing a green shirt.  Deputies searched the surrounding area, but were not able to locate anyone matching that description.

Hamilton Police are also investigating an attempted kidnapping that occurred in January on Heathrow Court. The suspect in that incident was driving a white box van.

If anyone can provide additional information about this incident, or has experienced a similar situation, they are asked to please call the Sheriff's Office Dispatch Center at (513) 785-1300.
