XU drops another close one on road

Another close game, but another close road loss for Xavier at Richmond, 73-71.

Travis Taylor led Xavier with 24 points, but twice in the final seconds, needing to purposely miss foul shots to give Xavier a chance to tie, Taylor accidentally made the foul shot and the Musketeers never had a chance at an offensive rebound and game tying bucket.

A back-and-forth game in the second half, Xavier pulled ahead by three with 5:30 left, but Richmond rallied to drop X to its third conference loss of the season.

Xavier is now 12-9 (5-3) and next plays Duquesne next Saturday in Pittsburgh.
