Whitehouse voters will vote to legalize beer and wine sales

WHITEHOUSE, TX (KLTV) -

Whitehouse voters can expect to see the proposition to legalize the sale of beer and wine for off-premise consumption on their May ballot.

Stephanie Wright, city secretary for Whitehouse, said a total of 762 signatures were needed for the proposition to appear on the ballot. Wright confirmed a total of 832 signatures were turned in by the deadline, which was January 25. 

Karen Nelson, Smith County Election Administrator, said no petitions were turned in for Precinct 1. She said the deadline was January 27.
